Taking One Day At A Time

I know most of the time I just seem to whine about my health.. and other aspects of my humdrum life..

But I have to say the news these days doesn't really help either.. so here I go sounding off on what is in the news..

First off lets talk about the Jussie Smollett.. I have to say this guy is just another example of stupidity..  I was never really an Empire TV show fan.. so I didn't really know anything about this guy before the drama all started.. and I have to say at first when I heard of the attack .. I didn't even hear much about it.. other than Empire guy got attacked and was in the hospital..

So I didn't know about the MAGA, slurs or rope placed around his neck or even what time it had supposedly happen.. so at first I just thought he might have been mugged somebody possibly attacked him on the street for his wallet.. etc..

Then I heard they were looking for camera footage for a much clearer picture of what might have happened and news of the rope and slurs ..etc were released.. which I thought was of course horrible because nobody should be racially attacked .. etc..

Then I saw the interview, heard more information on the event along with the doubts into his truth on the event.. and then .. wow.. they found the guys and they give him up.. wow.

I have to say I was blown away at hearing that somebody that had a rising career would commit suicide on his own life.. Really.. at your age Jussie you should know the difference between right and wrong.. and self preservation is a primal response... did you really think this wasn't going to be found out and your life would end up in the toilet..

I heard on the TV that you thought in some ways this would somehow promote your career and possibly get you more pay ..fame etc.. Really Dude.. How old are you again.. that sounds like some kind of stunt a child would pull .. a sympathy stunt..  poor little ole me I was jumped and they said racial and sexual orientation slurs..

But dude get real .. your not a kid.. you are a grown man.. and I heard that Police Officer say with utter disappointment in how he is speechless to know that this was all a lie.. why anyone would do this and set back the struggles of race and sexual orientation in this way.. I agree..just think of all the people that have REAL racial or sexual orientation events that now BECAUSE OF YOU ..be second guessed..  what in the world did you do..

and I have to say I don't care if your Republican or Democrat.. this is not what someone does..

I cannot even believe that our country is in such chaos .. that there are people out there attempting to kill Democrats.. or as in your case Jussie implicate Republicans .. Hell someone had to tell me what MAGA country was.. because at first I didn't know..

2. News story opinion..

Let me just say I now see as of today that they have filed sex charges on R Kelly.. Trust me I agree these charges are overdue.. after all the powers that be had their chances years ago to put a stop to this predator.. and YOU DIDN'T.. I guess for those of us that have watched the documentaries.. the news .. and the history behind how he has continued to prey on our young people.. I guess we now can say .. it is about time.. RIGHT

Look I get it nobody fought hard enough when he was a rising star to stand up for the girls.. after all I remember when he was on top.. I myself was younger than and I listened to I Believe I can Fly..  I remember when he was dropping hits like wildfire.. Ignition.. etc..

So I get it now with the Me Too movement your eyes have been opened.. plus he is more exposed now .. older now.. and in some way the powers that be can now say ...We finally can go after him and because of the day and age we are living in .. we can finally put him behind bars..

I think in one way this is what the Me Too movement has done.. it has finally brought about the change necessary to bring about change that allows people to get predators out of their offices.. out of the public eye.. etc.. and in the case of R Kelly hopefully behind bars.. maybe he can even be in the same prison as Bill Cosby.. who knows.. right

Trust me I am for Me Too.. but I have to say we as a country shouldn't have had to wait so long for times to have changed.. after all as an older woman in my late 50s .. I have seen years of sexual innuendos and it wasn't just men that kept me from being able to speak up .. it was also women that said.. you can't do anything.. it will just cause you more trouble to speak up.. if not get you fired or labeled..

change should have come a long time ago.. but as for actual sexual rape or assault.. hmm hasn't that been illegal for years.. YEARS .. Right?

okay I will take a breath now.. Let me just say in closing .. The country we live in now is scary.. and I pray everyday for my grandchildren.. I pray that our country and world will be a better place when they are my age..
